I know the glittered glory of Darcelle is old hat to many Portlanders, but if you haven’t yet seen this gritty drag show, do so immediately.

Highlight: Mr. Mitchell (though he’s not a female impersonator) and his sexed-up Prince review.
Lowlight: The after-hours male strippers. Don’t stay too long or you’ll leave smelling like their coconut body oil.

Homeschool is pleased to share two shows this month featuring artists from our happy family! New Homeschool artist, John Kelting, has a solo show at the Lucky Lab in Northwest. Also, Ashley Sloan is participating in the group show, Play for Keeps, at Tribute Gallery.

Be sure to check them both out! But, of course, if you miss them they’re available night and day on the site.

Jack and I will be giving a brief lecture on Homeschool as apart of Research Club’s Organizer’s brunch. We will be doing a ton of bragging about the artists we rep as well as give a short history of the project. Come say hi and enjoy delicious brunch.
Location: Tribute Gallery (328 NW Broadway #117 Portland, OR 97209)
Time: 11 am (Sunday, January 10th)
Repost from Portlandart.net:
“Local artists Sarah Gottesdiener and Jenny Hoyston are seeking artist/performer/etc. participants for a monthly post-First Friday anti-stuffy art salon they’re launching this February at Branx. If you would like to show art, perform, play music, or really do anything to participate, contact sarah.gottesdiener@gmail.com.”
Sounds good right.
